Keeping up our practice is so important during these times, whether it is an in person or online class, Yoga can offer us some stability in a world out of control. Click the link below for current offerings and my current yoga teaching schedule.
Yoga offers us the perfect opportunity to practice mindfulness, or living in the present moment. I teach Mindful Yoga, where we connect to our breath, body and mind. In my class, it isn't about perfect poses, it is about the connection within.
Yoga Nidra draws our attention inwards, where we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep and our body finds its natural state of balance. We fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness and in this relaxed state, we restore our body, emotions and our minds to their natural state, where we feel no separation and feel whole within ourselves.
Restorative yoga allows our body and mind to completely relax as we focus on releasing and letting go. The practice places our body in a relaxed state that allows our nervous system to stop constantly being in the sympathetic state, the fight or flight mode. When we access the parasympathetic nervous system, it aids healing and relaxation in the body. Something we could always use more of in this crazy COVID world we now live in.
